The Window
The Window
Set above the kitchen sink
A window, where she
Could pray and think.
As her visits came
More frequent and sure,
The window began to
Show her more
Than the quiet yard
Where birds bathed
And the sky
With its glorious spray.
Scenes, people,
Places never known,
And disaster that
Left them lost and alone.
“Why do I see this
so terrible a sight?”
A voice in her ear said,
“Pray for the right.
I need you to stand
In the gap tonight.”
She cried and prayed
Til the scenes went away.
Thus she came to this spot
Day after day.
Visions and dreams
Of plights displayed
Were calls from her God
To come to the fray.
