#Let Contentions Turn to Compassion

It has been a little while since I posted. I have been away from the computer for some growth and meditation time. Sometimes the Lord moves things out of the way so that he is the one to whom we go for help or conversation. Sometimes it is so that our own spouses are called for work or friends are not available. So JESUS is right there saying, okay everyone is gone. Care to give me a shot at your problem?

It seems to have been this way lately. He has used this time to prune away things in my heart, mentalities and attitudes; even contentions with people I did not even realize I held.

About some of those contentions. They begin many times with offenses. Jesus even said that they would come and were necessary. He also said that we should "bless them that persecute us and pray for them that despitefully use us." Remember that hurt people HURT people. It is the way we treat our injustices that determines whether we pass his test and are trusted at higher levels. People who offend-sometimes repeatedly- are often there to show us a mirror to ourselves. As hard as it is to face sometimes, we are better off to make the correction and move on. We all want to live more victorious abundant lives.

When you find yourself alone with the weight of the world on your shoulders or that hang up that doesn't, get hung up. Go to Jesus speak to him honestly and let his words teach you. Then obey him: make the correction or simply pray for that other person that hurts you. But don't be offended.

Psalm 119:165
"Great peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them."

  1. Rate Yourself 1-10 (10 being the best) as to how well you handle injustices in your life. Does heart need repairs?
